We spent a few very cold recesses inside last week.  I hope that we will have a few days that are a bit warmer now.  Be sure to send hats and gloves with your children for when we do go outside.
     Parent Visiting Day is this Wednesday.  You are welcome to drop by and visit in our classroom.  We would love to see you.  At 1:30 we will be going into the church for the upper grade spelling bee.  There the winners of the grades 1-4 classroom spelling bees will also be announced.
     Our classroom Christmas party is on December 20.  That is the day by which your child should have his class exchange gift at school.

MONDAY:
Christ Light - Read "God Gives the Ten Commandments" with your child.

TUESDAY:
Reading - Be sure that your child has returned his Book Buddy.  They will not be sent home again until after the Christmas break. The Unit 6 spelling list was sent home.
Advent church services at 3:30 and 6:30 tomorrow.

WEDNESDAY:
Christ Light - Please read "The Golden Calf" with your child.
Math - Lesson 61 fact homework and homework

THURSDAY:
Reading - Help your child to read "The Foolish Giant". (pp.72 - 80)

FRIDAY:

     Our class sings for the 3:30 Advent service on Wednesday.  I will keep the children in the classroom after school.  You may send a snack if you wish.  After we sing your child will go to sit with you.  If your child cannot sing with us be sure to excuse him/her.
     Your child brought home an envelope with the Christmas name he chose.  Gifts should be around $5.  They should be brought to school by our party on the 20th.
     Since we have begun working on the Christmas Service no other memory treasures will be sent home.  We will work hard on our parts at school.  Our Unit 5 spelling test is this Friday.  We study the words at school but the children need to spend some time reviewing them with you or on Spelling City.
