It is exciting to see the students reading and taking quizzes on their AR books.  Each child should aim to read at least five AR books by the end of the third quarter.
     If your child will be exchanging Valentines with the class, please send them next week Wednesday.  There is no school on the 12th or 13th because of teachers' conference.  We will pass out our cards and have a little snack on the 11th.
     We will also have a little classroom Spingle Spangle Talent Show on that Wednesday afternoon at 1:45.  Each child will be given a five minute time slot in which to perform his talent.  In the past we have had some children do magic tricks, read a poem, sing a song, play an instrument, do a dance, etc.  Please help your child to prepare his talent and be ready to share it with us on the 11th.  Parents are welcome to come and join the fun.  You might even want to DO the act with your child. We may have a treat for you too. : )
     A heads up...our Unit 9 spelling test is on Tuesday.  Look over those words!
