Thursday

Good afternoon!

Bible:  We reviewed Moses' birth and recited our Memory Treasure.  The kids loved singing "Wake, Awake," our hymn this week by following along in the hymnals.  They are all getting the hang of it.  That hymn will be sing in church this weekend.

Superkids:  We started the Long Vowel sounds today.  Ask if your child can name a long vowel word for each vowel.  (cake, eat, kite, Rowan, cube).

Math:  Counting dimes.  It is easy to look at five dimes and think= 50 cents.  When going the other way, "How many dimes is 80 cents? it was a bit trickier.

Social Studies:  We spent time on the Plimoth.org website for an interactive lesson about the first Thanksgiving.

We reviewed writing sentences and identifying Subject nouns (SN), verbs (V), adverbs (Adv) and adjectives (Adj).

We ended the day with reading stations.

Many kids "earned" their prize today for reading for 15 nights.  Some children need a few more nights.  Thanks for listening to reading each night.  Another bag was sent home today.  I will have to figure out our new prize.

This afternoon we called Shirley T, Mrs. Monroe's mom.  She is very ill and will go to heaven soon.  We sang the Servant Song and I am Jesus Little Lamb.  It brought her Jesus joy!
